Analysis of Research Trends in Islands Tourism Using Bibliometrics and Text Mining

After the 1950s, when have heightened interest in islands, high islands has affected research, and similar upward trends continued research that focuses on tourism. It is no longer easy to even grasp actual of research. This study intended clarify The author collected all papers which are searched using Web scraping with keywords ‘Island’ ‘Tourism’ Science Direct. methods this Bibliometrics Text mining. Specifically, conducted four analyses, order study. First, a Frequency analysis from Bibliometric point view based 6,967 1998 2021. As result, it was clarified annual amounts changed an increasing trend 2005. Second, Correspondence top 60 most frequent words, time-series changes could be classified into five categories: ‘Development / Resources’, ‘Carrying Capacity Sustainability’, ‘Risk Disaster’, ‘Network’, ‘Nature Landscape’. Third, Cluster summarized three clusters: ‘Tourists Travel Destinations Experiences’, ‘Tourism Industry Economic Growth’, ‘Conservation Development （SDGs） Policy Community’. Fourth, performed Co-occurrence Network co-occurrences relationships between words ‘Economic Revitalization Regional Related Policies’, ‘Behavior Experiences Individual Tourists’, ‘Environmental Problems Conservation’. Finally, results these concludes tourism shifted ‘Development’ ‘Economy’ island regions, Conservation’ since mid-2010s, 2018, concluded there focus ‘SDGs’.
